Parking Information: While the Berlin Fairgrounds offers some free onsite parking, the Berlin Lions Club recommends using the free shuttle bus service from Assa Abloy or Eversource, which run continuously. Note that the shuttles are not operating on Thursday, but will be on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Since 1882, the Berlin Fair   has attracted 80,000 to 90,000 visitors annually. Often called "the biggest little fair in Connecticut", this event holds a special place in my heart because growing up in Berlin as a kid, the entire town would get the day off of school just to attend this fair. From classics like fried dough and "freedom fries" to fried pickles, smoked turkey legs, and deep fried oreos, there's a new food to try everywhere you turn. There's also a large beer and wine pavilion, tractor pulling, live concerts, amusement rides, a car show, and agricultural exhibits that visitors can look forward to. To learn more about the Berlin Fair, check out this complete guide I put together.

While the Big E is not located in Connecticut, it's a very popular fair that people travel to across the east coast every single year. It's the largest fair in New England, spanning across 175 acres in West Springfield, Massachusetts. It features fair food classics, an area with countless fair rides, and animal exhibits, similar to other fairs in the area. One of the major things that makes the Big E stand out in comparison though is the state houses. Every New England State has its own unique building, and inside each there is state-specific food, local products, tourism info, cultural exhibits, and more. Connecticut's state house features Connecticut-made pizzas, seafood, aerospace equipment, and more.
